black widow plane

Black Widow Plane - The Second World War began in darkness which provided great protection for all the people who came out. The defense's ability to detect intruders is very limited. It is only partially good if the sky is clear and the moon is full.

On the other hand, throwing all the bombs is very difficult. When British Bomber Squadrons launched night missions, their invulnerability was so bad that the Germans often could not identify the city under attack. The Germans did a little better against the British for a few reasons; London was close enough to cover Europe, that the Germans could change their aircraft's gear at night to direct their bombs more closely. Second, if visibility is good, London has a great view of the river. The Germans can too

Yes, we know that World War II was the dawn of modern warfare. Both the UK and Germany had radar protection nets from the start (the UK system was pretty cool, but we'll save that for another day). But a large, basic system can only guide a fighter in a general area; Levels are visible

What is needed is a small, high-precision radar for the interceptor to accurately guide the target. Something to bridge the gap between day vision and night vision level (vision is needed, artillery in the second world war was always involved in finding the target to shoot it).

At the outbreak of war, the British developed small aircraft that could be used with a heavy fighter, most notably the Bristol Blenheim, a tactical bomber turned fighter. The Germans had initially decided that it would be impossible to build this small radar which gave the British a good lead. But small is the key word here. The equipment is large and large enough for only large aircraft, with special personnel to protect it. Do what can be used. After the Blenheim, the British would use the Beaufighter and Mosquito as the future of night fighters.

At the same time, the US Air Force closely followed the development and collaborated. British technicians. Work has begun on a special aircraft that could carry a sophisticated and powerful radar, have enough speed to repel any intruder, and enough power to carry special fuel or bombs for various missions.

Northrop's design quickly became a front runner, but it was a tough modern fighter that took the time to design a high-performance aircraft with advanced electronics. The SCR-720 radar has a range of 5 kilometers and can also be used for surveillance. In short, this means that the P-61 has advanced and versatile electronics.

It was first deployed to England in May 1944. This was late in the war, and although the Black Widow had been greatly improved, there were now many aircraft filling the role. In fact, American night fighters in theater used the Bristol Beaufighter. Specifically these crews need new equipment and Mosquitos, not Black Widows no matter how "advanced" their radar is. It was in June 1944 that the 8th Air Force was planning a sortie between the current Mk XVI and the P-61A Special Fighter. The black widow is an outdoor mosquito and has evolved in high places.

And the disobedient have mocked him ever since. The British couldn't produce enough mosquitoes for their needs, and they couldn't refuse to ask for a "loan-rent". It looks like a fix is in, and the Mosquito crew is in to make Black Widow a success.

But regardless, the Black Widow is a capable and dangerous fighter in the sky. Especially since many of them were called to be deployed at night against the movement of troops and transports. With the ability to pay off black widows, and the SCR-720s ability to track targets on the ground, they are probably the best choice for this mission.

Things are a little different in the Pacific. The Black Widow doesn't play second fiddle, but it outperforms the Navy and Marine F6F-5N fighters by some standards. This uses a smaller and shorter radar, but means a smaller single-seat fighter is much faster. The P-61s did similar work in Europe, and flew many patrols. Around the clock to protect the main base. But sometimes they couldn't catch the attackers at high speed, so Rin's soldiers were called in to solve the problem.

A fast version of the Black Widow (P-61C) was entering service at the end of the war. It has a powerful turbosupercharger that allows the R-2800 engine to produce 2800 horsepower. It is 60 kilometers per hour (430 mph) faster than its predecessor and can maintain speed and power over a wider range.

The Black Widows at the United States Air Force Base (Wright-Patterson Air Force Base) and the Smithsonian (at Udvar-Hazey) are both "C" models. "B" is returned to the Air Force Base at the Mid-Atlantic Museum (Reading, Pennsylvania).

This example shows a P-61B of the 6th Night Fighter Wing at I Shima (off the coast of Okinawa) during the last summer of the war.

It's from the great Hobbies series. The design is an improvement on the old Monogram that has been around for ages, but perhaps not much of an improvement. Out of the box, it looks great and I'm very excited to build it. But good explanations and wonderful ideas hide good and stable problems. It's an improvement, but it's not the first class (although the packaging is!).

The product comes from a range of national brands and brands, but the unique "Midnight Belle" (art, name, serial number) comes from Zotz. Good product, looks good and easy to work with decals.

It was the first American fighter jet designed as a night fighter, and the first designed as a night fighter.

Named after the North American spider Latrodectus mactans, it is an all-metal, twin-engine, twin-boom gun with four forward-firing 20 mm (.79 in) Hispano M2 autocannons in the lower fuselage, and four .50 in . . Built during the war, the first flight test took place on 26 May 1942, and the first production aircraft rolled off the assembly line in October 1943.

Although not in mass production today, the Black Widow was successfully used as a night fighter by the US Air Force in the European Theater, the Pacific Theater, the China Burma Theater, and 'Mediterranean Theater in World War II. It replaced an earlier British-designed fighter that had been modified to include a radar detector. After the war, the P-61 was redesignated the F-61 and served in the United States Air Force as a long-range, all-air, day/night fighter for the Air Force Command until 1948, and for the Fifth Air Force until 1950. The last aircraft left government service in 1954.

On the night of August 14, 1945, a P-61B of the 548th Airlift Wing named Lady in the Dark was awarded its last aerial victory before VJ Day.

The P-61 was also modified to serve as the F-15 Correspondent photo reconnaissance aircraft for the later US Air Force.

In August 1940, 16 months before America's end of the war, the head of the US Air Force in London, Lieutenant General Delos C. Emmons, was briefed on British research in radar (Radio Detection And Ranging), which had been carried out since 1935. and he had He was instrumental in defending the country against the Luftwaffe in the Battle of Britain. Geral Emmons described the new Airborne Intercept radar (AI for short) as a self-assembled unit that can be mounted on an aircraft and operated.
